Korea will take on ‘Asia’s best’ Australia.

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced the draw for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday. A total of 24 nations will compete in six groups.

South Korea was drawn into Group A alongside Australia, Thailand, and Indonesia. As a 2 seed, Korea will face Australia instead of New Zealand or Japan, the other three teams in Pool 1.

The first and second place finishers in each group will qualify for the 2025 Asia Cup. The third-place finishers in each group will play in the final tournament, with four of them qualifying, meaning the Asia Cup will be a 16-nation competition.

South Korea has a huge barrier in Australia, but with Thailand and Indonesia ranked below them, their chances of qualifying are not low. In fact, in the last Asia Cup, South Korea lost both games of a two-game series against the Philippines, but still managed to qualify with four wins against two other countries.온라인카지노

And facing Australia isn’t such a bad outcome – they’ve competed against a number of Asian nations and New Zealand, but have rarely faced the Aussies. They need to realize the gap between them and the rest of the world in order to grow.

Asia Cup qualifiers will begin in February 2024.
