Chelsea have set their sights on another midfielder as Brighton look to keep hold of Moises Caicedo.

“Chelsea are interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes after becoming frustrated with the lack of progress in their pursuit of Kaysedou,” the British publication Evening Standard reported on April 4 (ET).

Brighton are demanding £100 million ($166.3 million) in transfer fees for Caido, with Chelsea rejecting an £80 million ($133 million) offer last week. Kaysedo wants to move to Chelsea, but Brighton are not willing to lower their price, so the Blues are considering other options.

Paredes is an Argentine midfielder who plays for PSG. With a precise right-footed kick, he’s a dead-ball specialist who specializes in taking free kicks and corners. He’s also an attacking midfielder, which means he can drop in passes and help build up from the back.

However, as a defensive midfielder, he doesn’t play much defense. His lack of mobility and physical strength makes him a poor defender. His role overlaps with that of Enzo Fernandez, as he can distribute the ball and help with the buildup.

He also needs to regain his form after being pushed out of the starting lineup at both his home club, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus during his loan spell last season. Luckily, Pochettino has experience working with him in Paris and knows his weaknesses, so there’s plenty to work with.

Having won a World Cup with Argentina last year at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, he is in the final year of his contract with Paris. As such, he could be available at a reasonable price, unlike Caicedo, who has a £100 million price tag.

According to the media, Paredes is not a player that owner Boheli is targeting, but Pochettino is looking to add more experience to his squad ahead of the new season.토토사이트

With the departure of Connor Gallagher in a midfield that has already seen a number of departures, new signings are essential. A number of players have been linked with the move, including Ajax’s Edson Alvarez, Leeds United’s Tyler Adams, Everton’s Amadou Onana, and Celta Vigo’s Gabriel Jesus.
