Seung-Taek Oh won his first professional tournament at the 18th stop of the 2023 KPGA Srixon Tour.
On the final day of the tournament at Gunsan CC in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, Oh shot a final round 11-under par 129.
Seung-Taek Oh looked shaky on the final day with one bogey and a double bogey, but he reeled off six birdies to tie for the lead with Baek-Jun Kim.
On the 10th and 11th holes of the tournament, both Seung-Taek Oh and Baek-Jun Kim parred the first and second holes, and on the third hole, the 12th, Seung-Taek Oh birdied the hole while Baek-Jun Kim made a double bogey to seal the victory.
“I’m happy to get my first win as a professional,” said Oh Seung-taek after the match, “I made a double bogey on the fifth hole when my tee shot went into the hazard. I got greedy and started to falter, but I tried my best to keep my mental game in check.”안전놀이터
After winning individual silver and team bronze medals at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang, Oh made his KPGA Korean Tour debut in 2021, but did not have much success.
His best finish was a tie for 26th place at the 64th KPGA Championship with A-ONE CC in 2021.
“I turned pro right after winning a medal at the Asian Games, but I didn’t perform as well as I expected,” Oh said. “My tee shot was my weakness, and it kept faltering. My self-esteem dropped a lot at that time.”
“I think it’s really a new beginning now,” said Oh, who earned his first professional victory, “and I will do my best for the remaining KPGA Srixon Tour events and the KPGA Korean Tour QT.”
