Kim Joo-hyung struck gold on day one at the course hosting the Paris Olympics.

South Korea’s Joo Hyung Kim fired a 7-under 64 to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the DP World Tour’s Cajun Open de France ($3.25 million) at Le Golf Nacional (par-71) near Paris, France, on Monday afternoon (July 21). He holds a one-stroke lead over second-place finisher Mashu Southgate (England).

Le Golf Nacional will host the men’s and women’s golf events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Kim is currently the highest-ranked men’s golfer in the world (18th), and if he maintains his current ranking, he has a good chance of qualifying for the Olympics. In rainy, windy, and chilly conditions, Kim finished the first day of play with seven birdies and no bogeys.안전놀이터

“I played really hard because of the rain,” Kim said after the tournament. I didn’t expect anything,” he said, “I knew I was playing well and tried to play stress-free. I’m looking forward to the rest of the matches.”

“I know that the Olympics will be held here next year,” he said, “and it’s definitely good preparation. Just getting to know the course is a definite bonus for me.”
